About Us

It takes a team of dedicated people “servants” to keep the fairhill farm poodles in the style they expect: happy, healthy, well groomed, well fed and, most importantly, well loved.

Kathryn Diefenbach

Kathryn has been training, showing and breeding standard poodles for over 20 years. Fairhill Farm was officially registered by the Canadian Kennel Club in 1988. Now retired from the show scene Kathryn enjoys a relaxed relationship with her extended family of poodles “in residence” – that means her residence, bed & breakfast and beyond! More About Kathryn

Veterinarian Dr. Bruce Bowker

Dr. Bruce Bowker

Dr. Bowker is a respected and admired small animal veterinarian in the local community and in the region. He makes regular visits to Fairhill Farm to insure our poodles stay healthy. He thoroughly examines every puppy before it leaves the farm. We are especially grateful for his knowledge and compassion when bad things happen to our poodles.

Farm & kennel manager, Jeff MacMurtry

Jeff MacMurtry

Jeff is our farm & kennel manager. His natural love and understanding of dogs and horses is a wonderful asset for all our creatures. His life-long experience with dog breeding makes him a valuable asset at Fairhill Farm from poodle conception to puppy adoption.

Dog groomer, Melissa Venadem

Melissa Venadem

Melissa is a busy all-breed dog groomer who provides us with her services in our own grooming room at the farm. She makes sure our resident poodles and the puppies are always clean & well groomed. Melissa is also a proud owner of a Fairhill Farm poodle named Hogan.

The Farm

Situated on the gentle slope of the South Mountain of the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Fairhill Farm occupies 150 acres of bucolic paradise. The farm overlooks a panoramic view of the river valley and the North Mountain. Breathtaking scenery and cool summer breezes make this an ideal home for all creatures, especially humans and their four-legged friends. A seven acre fence enclosed area around the main buildings insures the safety of poodles and puppies while allowing them liberty to explore and play safely.
